Dr AlSuwayeh was awarded his PhD degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of Florida, USA, in1997. His previous studies include a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Mississippi, USA, in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1985.

He has 12 years experience in pharmaceutical product and manufacturer regulation and registration in Saudi Arabia and GCC Countries, five years of which as Chairman of the Technical Registration Committee in the Saudi Ministry of Health and recently the Saudi FDA.

Dr AlSuwayeh is currently a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Technical Registration Committee at the Saudi FDA since 2009.

Previously, he was Chairman of the Technical Registration Committee at the Saudi MOH (2004-2009), President of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society (2005–2007) and Vice Dean at the KSU Deanship of Scientific Research (2003–2006).

Dr AlSuwayeh also has extensive experience in conducting and evaluating bioequivalence studies. In addition, he has contributed to the writing and updating of many guidelines for the Saudi FDA including Bioequivalence Guidelines, Clinical Studies Guidelines, Stability Guidelines, cGMP Guidelines and the Saudi Drug Law. He has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and has represented KSU, Saudi MOH and Saudi FDA at national and international conferences on science and regulation-related topics.

He is a member of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Sigma Xi Honour Scientific Society, the International Microencapsulation Society, and the European Federation of Biotechnology.

Dr AlSuwayeh has received numerous research project and academic achievement awards, and a Scientific Publishing Award for the academic year 2010 at King Saud University.

He has written 50 scientific papers which were published in various journals, such as the Journal of Applied Sciences Research, Australian Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, Journal of Drug Targeting, and Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal, or presented at international pharmaceutical science conferences.
